Morning wake up

Give yourself time in the morning. Even if it means waking up a little earlier. This sets me up for the day. Enjoy a cup of tea, after your glass of water of course.

Water and lemon is a good start to the day to flush the toxins that your body has been working hard to get rid of during your sleep.

I like to enjoy this whilst  spending some qaulity time with my dog. She loves a cuddle first thing. This is good for her and me. It creates the happy and love endorphines which is the perfect way to start your day!

Light your favourite candle or incense stick to create ambiance and I like to hold in the palms of my hand the two crystals I am drawn to that day. Taking on the energy of the crystals draws out negativity and helps you focus on positive thoughts and feelings

I then spend a few minutes deep breathing and then a 5-10 minute meditaion.

I like to use a guided meditation. This helps me be still as I find it hard to switch off.

I spend 5 minutes doing some stretching. I find this helps me rebalance and get rid of aches and pains due to the repetitive nature of my job

Below I have included examples of videos I use to start my day

Practice Grattitude

Start writing down things that you are grateful for. It can be anything in your life that you are thankful for. Ranging from your cup of coffee to feelings that you experience that make you happy. Getting into a mindset of practising grattitude instills positivity. It only takes 7 days create new pathways and create new habits. Journaling helps to process thoughts, feelings and goals. I do this first thing in the morning and last thing at night to reflect on my day.

You can pick up some lovely daily journals on Amazon

Sleep

Bed should be our place of tranquility. This is paramount for good sleep to restore energy and allow our body to clear out the toxins. If sleep debt builds up it will eventaully lead to inflammation in the body, heart disease, diabetes, weight gain and a whole host of other health issues.

Bedtime rituals

Create a calming atmosphere ,use your favourite candles or low lighting. I like wind down with a good book or an audiobook. Slumber is also a very good app with sleep sounds, meditations and light hearted stories.

We should aim for around the same time every evening to ensure a good sleep routine enhancing your circadian rhythem. This is the biological process that regulates your full working body.

Good quality sleep also means in the day your more likely to make healthier food choices. If sleep quality is poor then we tend to crave junk and sugary foods due to dips in energy

I have added an example of a slumber story to the left. You can find Slumber in the app store on apple
